MNDT TYPE by Mindt® Studio (Sarah Schroeder)

Version 1.0 — October 2025

0. Terminology

  • EULA • End User License Agreement.

  • Font(s) • Digital files containing typeface software developed and owned by Mindt® Studio.

  • Typeface • A collection of font(s) formally related to one another by design.

  • License • The permission to use (a) font(s) under specific conditions defined in this agreement.

  • License Owner / Licensee • The legal entity or individual benefiting from the license and/or commissioning design or brand work using the font(s).

  • Company Size • Total number of employees employed directly by the license owner. External agencies or freelancers working on client projects are not counted, except as a subcontractor seat.

  • License Tier • The level of license determined by company size.

  • Designer / Agency • The party commissioned by the license owner to produce design, brand, or communication work using the font(s).

  • Subcontractor • One external party (freelancer, agency, or service provider) working on behalf of the license owner. Additional companies require additional seat license(s).

  • Mindt® Studio • Refers to »Mindt® Studio Sarah Schroeder«, the copyright owner of the font(s).

1. License Agreement

When you purchase a license, you are purchasing the right to use the font(s) under specific conditions defined in this agreement—not ownership of the font(s) themselves.

By downloading, installing, or using the font(s), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions of this EULA.

Acquiring a license grants the license owner a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use specified font(s) for the intended purposes stated at the time of purchase.

The font(s) may not be shared with or installed by any external party, except for one initial subcontractor. This means one subcontractor may use the font(s) on behalf of the license owner exclusively for the licensed project. Any additional external collaborators require their own license or a seat license.

Ownership of the font(s) remains entirely with Mindt® Studio.

1.1. Buying and Owning a License

  • The license must be owned and paid for by the entity that will ultimately use the font(s) in its design work or brand output.
  • Designers may purchase a license for a client, confirming they are authorized to act on behalf of the license owner. The license is intended for use by that client only.
  • Each client or entity must hold its own license. Font(s) may not be reused across unrelated clients.
  • Font licenses are valid within the license owner’s organization and include access for one initial subcontractor. Additional agencies or subcontractors must obtain their own license(s).

1.2. Pricing

  • All prices are one-time fees, listed in EUR. VAT applies where legally required.
  • Prices are structured by company size and license type.

1.3. Upgrading Licenses

  • The license must be upgraded when the company size exceeds the purchased tier.
  • If your company grows beyond 5000 employees or its size lies outside the listed tiers, a custom license must be requested via email.

1.4. Back-up Copies

  • You may create a reasonable number of back-up copies of the font(s) for archival purposes only. Any back-up must include the same copyright, trademark, and proprietary notices as the original files. All back-up copies must be deleted if the license is terminated.

1.5. Restriction as Goods for Sale

  • This license does not permit the use of the font(s) in the creation or production of alphabet or letterform products (such as stamp sets, house numbers, adhesive alphabet letters, alphabet punch, embroidery templates, stencils, etc.) or in the decoration or lettering of physical goods for sale.
  • Any such uses require a separate, custom license.

2. License Types

2.1. Desktop/Print License

Allows the installation of the font(s) on desktop computers to create printed or static digital designs.

  • Covers use in internal and client presentations, printed materials (books, posters, packaging, advertising), and static digital exports or graphics (e.g., JPG, PNG). Digital PDFs are permitted for display or sharing purposes only and may not be used for eBooks, apps, or other interactive documents.
  • Embedding in PDF files is permitted only for printing or preview purposes, provided reasonable measures are taken to ensure recipients cannot extract or reuse the embedded font(s).
  • To reproduce a specific document, you may temporarily provide the required font(s) to a commercial printer or service bureau, solely for output purposes. They must delete the font(s) after the job is completed.
  • Font(s) may not be converted to webfonts, modified, or otherwise altered.
  • This license does not cover:
    • Logo or identity creation using the font(s) as a core design element,
    • Use in social media content, motion graphics, webfont embedding, or
    • Redistributable or interactive documents such as eBooks or apps.
  • Provided formats: OTF/TTF.

2.2. Web License

Allows the use of the font(s) as self-hosted webfonts on a website owned by the license owner.

  • Must be self-hosted (no third-party CDN).
  • Priced per URL/domain. A separate web license has to be purchased for each URL.
  • Provided formats: WOFF/WOFF2.

2.3. Desktop + Web Combo License

Allows the use of the font(s) on both desktop and a website under a single license at a fixed fee.

  • Includes all permissions of both license types.
  • The desktop + web combo license is offered as a single offer; other combinations are not automatically discounted.

2.4. Logo/Wordmark License

Allows the licensee to use the font(s) solely for creating a logo, wordmark, or business identity, including static and vector-based representations.

  • Permitted uses:
    • Creating letterforms that make up all or part of a logo or wordmark design.
    • The logo may be reproduced across print, digital, and promotional materials only in its finalized logo form.
    • The logo may be trademarked, but this does not transfer ownership of the font(s) or typeface design.
  • Restrictions:
    • The font file is provided for the exclusive purpose of creating one logo or wordmark and may not be used, installed, embedded, or shared for any other project or medium.
    • Using the font for printed materials, digital assets, social media posts, presentations, websites, apps, motion graphics, or broadcast content requires a separate license.
    • Each additional logo or wordmark requires a separate license.
  • Provided formats: OTF/TTF.

2.5. Social Media + Broadcast License

Allows the use of the font(s) in static, motion, and video content distributed on social media platforms or via broadcast/streaming channels.

  • Included within the desktop/print license for companies up to 25 employees.
  • Covers all online or broadcast visual assets created by the license owner using the font(s), including:
    • Static posts and graphics on social channels (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Spotify, etc.)
    • Motion graphics, short videos, or longer video content for social media, TV, cinema, or streaming platforms
  • The use of the font(s) within a logo created under a logo/wordmark license does not require a separate social media license.
  • Required as a separate license if the font(s) are used for text or design elements beyond the logo in social media or broadcast content.
  • Provided formats: OTF/TTF.

2.6. App/Game License

Allows the embedding of the font(s) in a mobile app, software interface, or game.

  • One license per app/game title.
  • Each additional title requires an additional license.
  • Provided formats: OTF/TTF.

2.7. ePub License

Allows the embedding of the font(s) into one ePublication or eBook title.

  • Each new title requires a new license.
  • Fonts must be embedded securely and not extractable.
  • Provided formats: OTF/TTF.

2.8. Third-Party Seat License

Allows an external user (freelancer, agency designer, or service provider) to use the font(s) exclusively for the licensed project.

  • One seat covers one user or one desktop/computer only.
  • The fee per seat is fixed, regardless of the external company’s size.
  • The font(s) may only be used by the licensed user for the specific project and may not be shared with other users, companies, or projects.
  • No font files are included; the licensed user must access the font via the primary license holder.
